Tirana Mayor, Erion Veliaj introduced the Economy and Finance Committee members on Thursday with the law for the local authorities self-financing.
He declared that Tirana City Hall is acting with dignity in regard to this law, adding that 40% of the incomes are given to the government in exchange for 10% grants.
"We proposed the increase from 18% to 23% of the incomes from the vehicles tax. A specific draft focused only to the capital will soon be presented. Every non-resident of the capital that comes here for a different service generates an additional bill. Our proposal is not related to the taxes augmentation but the way in which these incomes are distributed by the government," said Veliaj.
He dwelt on the fact that currently Tirana has the lowest incomes, thus this way of doing must come to an end.
